Introduction

I know of a woman who was eager to explore the Catholic faith but was inhibited from doing so. She was undergoing a hard time in her marriage and sensed an impending divorce. Hence, she did not want to ‘complicate matters’ by joining a faith that opposes divorce.

I know of another woman whom when first told about the Catholic faith associated the faith primarily with the abstinence from the use birth control. This formed a great mental barrier to her exploring the Catholic faith.

I know of yet another woman whom when told about Catholicism first called to mind the sordid acts of pedophilic priests and the sexual abuse of innocent children. Of the other aspects of Catholicism she knew little of and had no interest in learning.

It is for these women that I embark on this article. Hopefully, by the end of the article they would get a clearer picture of what Catholicism is and is not.

An Instruction Manual

Biologically, most humans are fundamentally the same. If we get enough exercise, good nutrition and adequate sleep, we typically thrive.
